Niwaki Sentei Secateurs are great-value, drop-forged Japanese secateurs designed for everyday light garden pruning. Sharp S58 steel blades, a smooth spring action and a simple lock catch at the base make them comfortable and satisfying to use for deadheading, pruning smaller stems and general garden maintenance.

Made in Sanjo, Japan, the Sentei Secateurs are an excellent introduction to Japanese pruning tools. At 216g, they feel reassuringly substantial in the hand without being excessively heavy, while the 55mm blades provide clean, precise cuts on stems and branches up to approximately 7mm diameter.

How to Care for Niwaki Sentei Secateurs

The carbon steel blades take an excellent sharp edge but should be kept clean and dry to help prevent staining and rust. Remove sap and residue after use with the Niwaki Clean Mate, protect the blades periodically with Camellia Oil, and sharpen as required using the Niwaki Sharpening Stone.
