Niwaki Mainichi Secateurs

Niwaki Mainichi Secateurs are Japanese everyday secateurs designed for general pruning around the garden. Made by a small family business in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, they combine sharp SK-85 carbon steel blades with a simple direct cutting action, comfortable yellow grips and a chunky lower catch that is easy to operate even with cold, wet or gloved hands.

The standard right-handed Mainichi measure 203mm overall and weigh 209g, with 55mm blades and a recommended maximum cut of approximately 10mm. They are an excellent choice for regular pruning, deadheading, cutting back perennials and maintaining shrubs and other garden plants.

How to Care for Niwaki Mainichi Secateurs

SK-85 carbon steel takes and holds a sharp cutting edge but should be kept clean and dry to prevent staining and rust. Remove sap and residue after use with the Niwaki Mini Clean Mate, protect the blades periodically with Niwaki Camellia Oil, and sharpen as required using the Niwaki #1000 Sharpening Stone.
