Pepin Trio Mini Ollas – The Lovers Gift Set

A little love for their leafy collection. The Pepin Trio Mini Ollas – The Lovers is a gift-boxed set of three self-watering clay reservoirs for houseplants, combining decorative design with everyday plant care.

Handmade in Portugal, these miniature Ollas gradually release water into the surrounding compost through their porous clay bases. A thoughtful gift for a houseplant lover, they're a lovely way to treat someone whose home already seems to have a plant in every corner.

What Is an Olla?

An Olla is a porous clay water reservoir that is partially buried in compost. Filled with water, it gradually releases moisture into the growing medium around your plant's roots. It's an ancient irrigation technique, adapted into a compact accessory for indoor plants.

How to Use Your Mini Ollas

Gently make space in the compost beside your plant and insert the Olla, leaving the upper section visible. Ensure the porous base is in good contact with the compost, then fill the reservoir with water.

Check regularly and refill when empty. How quickly the water is released depends on your plant, potting mix and growing conditions, so monitor the compost as well as the reservoir rather than relying on a fixed refill schedule.

Which Plants Are They For?

Mini Ollas are designed for small and medium houseplants in pots under 15cm diameter. They're especially useful for plants that appreciate more consistent moisture. For larger pots, explore our full-size Pepin Ollas.

Many cacti and succulents prefer their compost to dry more thoroughly between waterings, so a continuous slow-release water source may not suit them.

A Little Something for Someone Who Loves Plants

Flowers are lovely, but a thoughtful accessory for their favourite houseplants can be enjoyed long afterwards. The Lovers trio makes a sweet present for Valentine's Day, an anniversary or simply to show someone you're thinking of them.

Presented in a gift box, the set is equally lovely for birthdays, Christmas and housewarmings. Use the three Mini Ollas together in a plant display or spread them across favourite plants around the home.

Mini Ollas can provide a useful reserve of water during shorter periods away, but how long a refill lasts varies between plants and homes. Test them with your plants before relying on them while travelling.
