Niwaki Kenzan | Ikebana Flower Frog

Niwaki Kenzan, also known as an ikebana flower frog, is a reusable flower holder designed for traditional Japanese ikebana and contemporary flower arranging. Strong brass pins hold flowers, foliage and woody stems securely in position, allowing you to create natural arrangements in shallow bowls and dishes without using floral foam.

Made in Japan, each Kenzan has a weighted metal base for stability and can be reused again and again. Choose from six sizes, from a set of four Mini Kenzan for small-scale arrangements to Large and Extra Large sizes for more substantial displays.

How to Use a Kenzan

Place the Kenzan in the bottom of a shallow bowl or dish and carefully press flower stems, foliage or branches onto the brass pins. For thicker woody stems, make a small cross cut in the base of the stem before placing it onto the pins. Add water to the dish and top up daily to help keep fresh flowers hydrated.
