Calathea orbifolia (19cm pot)
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Calathea orbifolia is one of the most sought-after foliage houseplants, admired for its large, rounded leaves decorated with elegant silver-green stripes. Its bold, architectural foliage creates an instant statement, bringing a lush tropical feel to living rooms, bedrooms and home offices.
Native to the tropical rainforests of South America, Calatheas thrive beneath the forest canopy where they receive filtered light and consistent moisture. Like other members of the Marantaceae family, Calathea orbifolia gently moves its leaves throughout the day in response to changing light levels, earning it the nickname Prayer Plant.
This larger specimen is perfect for creating impact in the home. It thrives in bright, indirect light and appreciates evenly moist compost and higher humidity. Calatheas are also non-toxic, making them an excellent pet-friendly houseplant for homes with cats and dogs.

Care Instructions
Light
Position out of any direct sunight! If in a shadier spot, the plant will offer less growth and require less water.
Water
Thoroughly water, then allow the top 3 to 4cm of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.
Food
Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.
