Calathea orbifolia is one of the most striking houseplants, with large, rounded leaves beautifully striped in silver and green. This bigger plant in a 19cm diameter nursery pot makes a real statement and adds instant tropical calm to any space.
Native to the rainforests of South America, Calatheas are known for their elegant, moving leaves that gently rise and fall with the light throughout the day. They’re part of the Marantaceae family and are safe for pets.
Place in bright, indirect light and keep the soil lightly moist — never soggy. Mist regularly to maintain humidity and feed occasionally in spring and summer.

Care Instructions
Light
Position out of any direct sunight! If in a shadier spot, the plant will offer less growth and require less water.
Water
Thoroughly water, then allow the top 3 to 4cm of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.
Food
Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.
Humidity
This plant enjoys humidity. Place in a bathroom and/or mist regularly with water.
