Calathea Mix | Lucky Dip Prayer Plant

Calathea Mix – Lucky Dip is a colourful selection of compact prayer plants, chosen from our current range of beautifully patterned varieties. Each plant has its own distinctive combination of stripes, markings and rich green, silver, purple or burgundy tones.

Many plants sold as Calathea are now botanically classified within the genus Goeppertia, but Calathea remains the familiar name used by growers and houseplant lovers. All belong to the Marantaceae family, known for foliage that can subtly change position between day and night.

Lucky Dip Selection

Your plant will be hand selected from the best available varieties in our current delivery. Exact leaf pattern and colour will vary, making each Lucky Dip slightly different.

Light & Position

Prefers moderate to bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade or scorch the patterned leaves.

Calatheas can tolerate somewhat lower light than many houseplants, but very dark positions should be avoided if you want strong colour and healthy growth.

Watering

Keep the compost lightly and evenly moist, allowing the surface to begin drying slightly before watering again. Avoid letting the plant sit in waterlogged compost.

Calatheas can be sensitive to very hard tap water, so rainwater or filtered water can be helpful if you regularly see brown leaf tips.

Humidity & Temperature

These plants appreciate moderate to higher humidity and warm, stable indoor conditions. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and other direct heat sources.

Regular misting is not essential; consistent watering and suitable surrounding humidity are more important.

Feeding

Feed lightly approximately once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser while the plant is actively growing. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter.
