The Calathea genus, also known as Goeppertia, is found across the tropical rainforests of South America. These plants belong to the Marantaceae family, famous for their fascinating ability to move their leaves throughout the day in response to light — a process known as nastic movement.
Pet-friendly and easy to care for, Calathea make the perfect choice for brightening low to medium light spaces.

Care Instructions
Light
Position out of any direct sunight! If in a shadier spot, the plant will offer less growth and require less water.
Water
Thoroughly water, then allow the top 3 to 4cm of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.
Food
Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.
Humidity
This plant enjoys humidity. Place in a bathroom and/or mist regularly with water.
