Bergs Potter Delphi Pot & Saucer | 20cm Rosa Terracotta

The Bergs Potter Delphi Pot & Saucer is a 20cm terracotta plant pot with rounded shoulders, a narrow neck and a matching saucer. The warm, pinkish tone of Bergs Potter’s Rosa terracotta pairs beautifully with green foliage, while the unglazed clay gives the pot a soft, matt finish.

Designed by Pablo Dorigo, Delphi takes its shape from the amphora, the ancient Mediterranean vessel with a generous body and a slender neck. The name comes from the Greek sanctuary of Delphi, once regarded as the centre of the world.

What makes the Delphi pot special?

There’s a practical reason for that curved profile. The narrower opening leaves less compost exposed to the air, helping to slow moisture loss from the surface. Outdoors, it also lets in less rain than a wide, open planter.

We’d pair Delphi with an upright plant such as a jade plant or a scented pelargonium. Both leave those rounded shoulders on show. The pot and saucer also make a lovely gift for a plant lover who enjoys choosing their own planting combination.

Planting & care

A drainage hole in the base means you can plant directly into Delphi. Choose compost to suit your plant, water thoroughly and empty any excess from the saucer. The pot is suitable for use indoors or outdoors. On a patio, check the saucer after heavy rain.

Will my nursery pot fit? Bergs Potter lists Delphi as 20cm in diameter, but the pot curves in at the neck. If you want to slip a nursery pot inside, its widest rim needs to pass through the opening. Allow for the same clearance when choosing a root ball for direct planting.
