Pyrus communis ‘Williams’, trained as an espalier, is a beautifully structured fruit tree combining classic orchard character with a clean, architectural form. Its horizontal branches are carefully trained along a frame, creating a striking silhouette that works perfectly against walls, fences or as a standalone garden feature.

In spring, the tree is covered in delicate white blossom, followed by the development of sweet, aromatic Williams pears through summer, ready to harvest in early autumn. Known for their juicy texture and excellent flavour, Williams pears are one of the most popular dessert varieties.

This trained form takes years to establish and offers an elegant, space-saving solution for patios, courtyards and smaller gardens. Its flat profile makes it ideal for positioning against a wall or boundary, where it adds both structure and seasonal interest.

Place in a sunny, sheltered outdoor position for best fruiting. Water regularly during dry periods, particularly when grown in a container, and feed in spring and summer to support healthy growth. Light pruning of new growth during the season will help maintain its shape.
