Bulb Planted Terrarium – Aged Cork
The Bulb Planted Terrarium with Aged Cork is a compact closed terrarium with a softly rounded, bulb-shaped glass vessel and a substantial textured cork lid. Planted with a changing selection of small tropical plants, each terrarium creates its own miniature living landscape and will vary slightly from the next.
Its compact proportions make it particularly easy to place on a shelf, desk, side table or mantel, while the aged cork gives the glass vessel a warm, natural finish. It also makes a thoughtful living gift for anyone who loves plants but wants something relatively low maintenance.
How Does a Closed Terrarium Work?
Once sealed, moisture continually circulates between the compost, plants and glass, creating a humid miniature growing environment. A well-balanced closed terrarium therefore requires very little additional watering once established.
Where to Position Your Terrarium
Place in bright, indirect light and keep away from strong direct sunlight. Direct sun can quickly raise the temperature inside the glass and damage the plants.
A bright room without prolonged direct sun is ideal. Keep away from radiators and other strong heat sources, and avoid very dark positions where the plants will receive too little light.
How to Water a Closed Terrarium
Closed terrariums should need very little watering. A small amount of condensation on part of the glass is normal and shows that moisture is circulating within the terrarium.
If there has been no condensation for several days and the compost looks dry, remove the cork and add only a small amount of water with a fine mister. Avoid pouring large amounts of water directly into the vessel, as overwatering is much harder to correct than slight dryness.
What If There Is Too Much Condensation?
If the glass remains heavily misted or covered with large droplets throughout the day, remove the cork for a few hours to allow excess moisture to escape. Replace the lid once the condensation has reduced.
Occasional light condensation is normal and does not need to be wiped away.

Care Instructions
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Do not place in direct sunlight as this can scorch the plants and also create too high a temperature inside the vessel.
Water
Terrariums rarely require watering if kept sealed. If the soil looks dry, mist water in to the vessel. Pouring water can cause a muddy splash!
Food
Generally, the plants inside a terrarium do not need fed as this can cause them to quickly outgrow the space.
Humidity
If condensation appears on the glass remove the cork until this clears. Too much water in the tearrium will cause the plants to rot.
