Bulbs:
Plant the bulbs with the pointed end facing upwards, so that they are fully submerged in the soil with the shoots just below the surface. Water after planting and keep hydrated when in growth.
Bare Roots:
Soak the bare roots in water for 1 hour before planting. It's best to start them in temporary pots in early spring and grow them in a sheltered outdoor spot before transferring them to borders in late spring.
Plant the roots so they are fully submerged in compost, with the shoots just below the surface or any top growth exposed. Water after planting and keep the plants hydrated as they grow.
Tubers:
Plant tubers outdoors in late spring, after the last frost has passed. Alternatively, you can start them indoors in pots during early spring and transfer them outside once temperatures have warmed up.
