add a pot to fit this plant

Scindapsus pictus ‘Trebie’, commonly known as Satin Pothos, is a striking trailing houseplant with large, heart-shaped deep-green leaves heavily marked with shimmering silver. The foliage has a soft, velvety sheen that catches the light beautifully, giving ‘Trebie’ a richer and more dramatic look than many smaller-leaved Scindapsus varieties.

Supplied in a generous 14cm hanging pot with approximately 40cm+ of trailing growth, this is an established specimen with immediate impact. The removable hanger means it can be displayed as a hanging plant or placed on a high shelf, plant stand or ledge and allowed to cascade naturally.

Light & Position

Prefers moderate to bright, indirect light. Good light helps maintain the strongest silver patterning and compact growth.

It will tolerate somewhat lower light levels, although growth may slow and new leaves can become greener. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.

Watering

Allow the upper 2–3cm of compost to dry before watering thoroughly, then let all excess water drain away. Scindapsus prefers an airy, free-draining growing medium and should not be left sitting in constantly wet compost.

Water less frequently during autumn and winter as growth slows.

Humidity & Temperature

Happy in normal household humidity, although moderate to higher humidity can encourage particularly lush growth. Regular misting is not essential.

Keep in warm indoor conditions and away from cold draughts and direct heat sources.

Feeding

Feed approximately once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser while the plant is actively growing. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter.

Trailing or Climbing?

‘Trebie’ is naturally both trailing and climbing. Allow the long stems to cascade freely from the hanging pot, or train them onto a moss pole or other suitable support. Given support, Scindapsus can eventually develop larger, more mature foliage.

Pruning

Trim back long or sparse stems whenever needed to encourage branching and keep the plant looking full. Healthy cuttings can also be propagated to create new plants or replanted into the original pot for an even denser display.

Why You'll Love It

  • Large heart-shaped leaves with heavy silver markings
  • Soft satin-like foliage with a beautiful sheen
  • Generous 14cm hanging plant with 40cm+ trailing growth
  • Removable hanger for flexible display
  • Can be grown trailing or climbing
  • Relatively easy to care for
  • Creates immediate impact on shelves and hanging displays

Pet & Child Safety

Scindapsus is harmful if eaten and contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth and digestive system. Keep out of reach of pets and young children.
