Prunus incisa ‘Kojo-no-mai’ is a charming dwarf flowering cherry prized for its delicate spring blossom and beautifully twisted branches. In early spring the bare stems become covered in soft pale pink flowers that gradually fade to white, creating a stunning seasonal display.
This compact Japanese cherry has a naturally sculptural form, with zig-zagging branches that add character and interest even in winter. Its small size makes it ideal for patios, balconies, small gardens or large outdoor containers.
Plant in well-drained soil in a position with full sun or partial shade. Water regularly during dry spells, especially when grown in a container. Minimal pruning is required, although light shaping can be done after flowering if desired.
