The Elephant Bush is an easy-care variegated succulent that can grow to incredible heights. Similar in look to the Jade Plant but more hardy and faster growing.
Portulacaria is a genus within the Didiereaceae family and they are commonly known as Elephant Bush because they are a chosen food source for elephants in South Africa.
Not only are Portulacaria excellent air purifiers, but this succulent is also renowned for it's medicinal qualities! It is often used traditionally to soothe blisters, sore throats and sunburn amongst other ailments.

Light
This plant prefers bright conditions. Direct sunlight is beneficial to this plant, however be cautious of letting it scorch in midday summer sun.
Water
Thoroughly water the compost and allow it to dry out before re-watering. Water less in winter and allow the compost to remain drier for longer.
Food
Feed once a month through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in the winter months.
Humidity
This plant is native to arid climates and therefore does not require any additional humidity. Do not mist this plant.
