The Philodendron scandens – also known as the Heart Leaf Philodendron or Sweetheart Plant – is a classic favourite for its lush, trailing vines and glossy, heart-shaped leaves. Easy to care for and wonderfully forgiving, it’s perfect for both new plant parents and seasoned collectors.
This fast-growing houseplant can be trained to climb or left to hang gracefully from a shelf or ceiling hook. Mature plants may even produce small white flowers. Like many Philodendrons, it also helps purify the air, making it both beautiful and beneficial for your home.
The Philodendron scandens tolerates all levels of indirect light, thriving in medium to bright conditions. Keep the soil evenly moist, re-watering when the top layer feels dry. Apply a liquid feed every few weeks in spring and summer to encourage healthy, vigorous growth.
