Oxalis triangularis ‘Mijke’, often known as the False Shamrock, is a striking houseplant with deep purple, triangular leaves that gently open and close in response to light throughout the day.
Its rich, velvety foliage brings bold colour and contrast to indoor spaces, while delicate pale pink or white flowers may appear during the growing season, adding an extra layer of interest.
This plant grows from small bulbs beneath the soil. If it begins to die back, don’t worry – it’s simply entering a natural period of dormancy. Allow it to rest in a cool, dry place for a few weeks, then resume watering to encourage fresh new growth.
