Muehlenbeckia complexa

Muehlenbeckia complexa is a distinctive evergreen climber with a dense network of slender, dark wiry stems covered in tiny, rounded green leaves. Commonly known as Wire Vine or Maidenhair Vine, it creates a beautiful cascading display in pots, containers and hanging baskets, bringing texture and movement to patios, balconies and sheltered gardens throughout the year.

Its naturally vigorous, scrambling habit allows it to trail gracefully over the edges of containers or climb with support, making it a wonderfully versatile addition to both contemporary and traditional outdoor spaces.

Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly during dry spells and feed throughout spring and summer to encourage healthy growth. Trim back as required to maintain its shape and encourage fresh growth.

Suitable for growing indoors as an unusual trailing houseplant. Position in bright, indirect light and keep the compost lightly moist, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid prolonged periods of drought and feed regularly during spring and summer.
