Mini Hoya Lucky Dip – Mystery Starter Plant
Wax Plant
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Mini Hoya Lucky Dip is a fun way to start or add to a Hoya collection, with one mystery Hoya chosen at random from our current stock. Each plant comes in a tiny 6cm nursery pot, making these ideal starter plants for shelves, windowsills, propagation stations and miniature plant collections.
The varieties available change regularly and may include different leaf shapes, colours, markings and growth habits. Part of the fun is not knowing exactly which one will arrive – simply choose the Lucky Dip and we'll select one from the Hoyas currently looking their best.
Light & Position
Most Hoyas grow best in bright, indirect or filtered light. Good light encourages healthy, compact growth and gives mature plants the best chance of flowering.
Avoid prolonged harsh midday sunshine through glass, particularly with young starter plants, as this can scorch the foliage.
Watering
Allow a good proportion of the compost to dry before watering thoroughly, then let all excess water drain away. Hoyas generally prefer an airy, free-draining growing medium and are more tolerant of being slightly dry than of sitting in waterlogged compost.
Water less frequently during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Humidity & Temperature
Most Hoyas appreciate moderate to higher humidity and warm, stable indoor conditions. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden temperature changes.
Regular misting is not essential; good surrounding humidity and airflow are more important.
Feeding
Feed lightly during spring and summer while the plant is actively growing. A balanced liquid houseplant feed or suitable orchid fertiliser can be used at reduced strength. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter.
Growth & Flowers
Growth habit will vary depending on the Hoya you receive. Some varieties naturally trail, while others prefer to climb and can be gently trained around a small support or trellis as they grow.
Mature Hoyas grown in good light can produce clusters of distinctive waxy, star-shaped flowers. These are starter-size plants, so flowering should not be expected immediately – part of the enjoyment is watching your mystery Hoya grow and develop over time.
Please Note
This is a Lucky Dip product. Your Hoya will be selected at random from the varieties available when your order is packed, and we are unable to guarantee a particular variety, leaf pattern or plant shown in the photographs.
These are young starter plants and individual specimens will naturally vary in size, shape, fullness and growth habit. Hoya foliage can also have small natural blemishes, marks or minor cosmetic imperfections from growing, handling or transport. These do not affect the overall health of the plant.
We carefully select and pack every plant before dispatch. If you need a particular named Hoya or are looking for a very specific specimen, we recommend choosing one of our individually named Hoya listings instead of the Lucky Dip.

Care Instructions
Light
Place in bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or evening sun can encourage flowering, but avoid prolonged harsh midday sun, which may scorch the leaves.
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry before watering again. This plant stores moisture in its fleshy leaves and prefers to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during winter.
Food
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a quality liquid houseplant fertiliser. Regular feeding encourages healthy growth, strong roots and more reliable flowering.
Humidity
This plant is happy in average household humidity but appreciates slightly higher humidity where possible. Good air circulation is equally important for healthy growth. Avoid excessive misting.
