Maranta leuconeura ‘Lemon Lime’, commonly known as the Prayer Plant, is a vibrant tropical houseplant with beautifully patterned leaves marked by vivid lime-green and darker green veining. Its colourful foliage and naturally spreading growth make it a striking choice for shelves, plant stands and indoor displays.
Native to the tropical forests of Brazil, Marantas are known for their fascinating leaf movement. Their leaves lie flatter during the day before gently folding upwards in the evening, giving rise to the name Prayer Plant.
Light & Position
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can fade the leaf markings and scorch the foliage.
Watering
Keep the compost lightly and consistently moist, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the plant sit in water.
Humidity
Enjoys moderate to higher humidity and will appreciate being kept away from radiators, cold draughts and very dry air.

Care Instructions
Light
Prefers indirect bright light and will tolerate direct sunlight in the morning or evening. If positioned in a shadier spot the plant will offer less growth and require less water.
Water
Thoroughly water, then allow the top few centimeters of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.
Food
Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.
Humidity
This plant enjoys humidity. Place in a bathroom and/or mist regularly with water. Remove dust from the leaves with a damp cloth to improve photosynthesis.
