Maranta ‘Lemon Lime’ is a vibrant Prayer Plant with striking lime-green veining and beautifully patterned foliage.

Maranta leuconeura ‘Lemon Lime’ is prized for its bright, oval-shaped leaves decorated with vivid green and lemon-lime markings in the classic herringbone pattern. Its colourful foliage and compact growth habit make it a wonderful choice for shelves, plant stands and indoor jungles.

Native to the tropical forests of Brazil, Marantas are loved for their fascinating leaf movements. Commonly known as Prayer Plants, their leaves lie flat during the day and gently fold upwards in the evening, resembling hands held in prayer. Given the right conditions, mature plants may also produce delicate flowers during the warmer months.

This eye-catching houseplant thrives in bright, indirect light and enjoys consistently moist compost and higher humidity. Its trailing growth habit makes it ideal for displaying on shelves where its beautiful foliage can cascade naturally.

Care Instructions

Light

Prefers indirect bright light and will tolerate direct sunlight in the morning or evening. If positioned in a shadier spot the plant will offer less growth and require less water.

Water

Thoroughly water, then allow the top few centimeters of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.

Food

Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.

Humidity

This plant enjoys humidity. Place in a bathroom and/or mist regularly with water. Remove dust from the leaves with a damp cloth to improve photosynthesis.
