Magnolia stellata, commonly known as the Star Magnolia, is a beautiful deciduous shrub prized for its elegant early spring flowers. Before the leaves emerge, the branches become covered in delicate star-shaped white blooms, creating a stunning display that signals the arrival of spring.
This compact Japanese magnolia forms a naturally rounded shape and is ideal for small gardens, patios or large outdoor containers. Its graceful branching structure and spectacular seasonal flowers make it a striking focal point for outdoor spaces.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil in a sheltered position with full sun or partial shade. Magnolia stellata prefers slightly acidic soil and benefits from protection from strong winds which can damage the delicate spring flowers. Water regularly during dry periods, particularly if grown in a container.
