Indoor Plant Compost & Repotting Mixes
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Choose the right indoor plant compost and repotting mix for healthier roots and successful repotting. Our specialist Growth Technology mixes are formulated for different types of plants, including everyday houseplants, cacti and succulents, orchids, bonsai, seeds and cuttings.
Each mix has a different balance of drainage, aeration, moisture retention and nutrients to suit the plants it is designed for. Choose your plant type from the options available rather than using one general-purpose compost for everything.
Which Indoor Plant Compost Do I Need?
Houseplant Focus Repotting Mix – 3L or 8L
A versatile, peat-free and free-draining mix suitable for a wide range of indoor houseplants. Contains nutrients to support healthy growth for up to two months. A good general choice for plants such as Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos, Ficus and many other foliage houseplants.
Cactus Focus Repotting Mix – 3L
Designed for cacti and succulents, with grit and sand included to create the faster drainage these plants need. Peat-free and suitable for plants that dislike remaining in wet compost.
Orchid Focus Repotting Mix – 3L
A peat-free, bark-based growing medium specifically designed for orchids. The open structure provides the combination of airflow and moisture around the roots that epiphytic orchids require.
Bonsai Focus Repotting Mix – 3L
An open-textured, peat-free mix for indoor and outdoor bonsai trees. It promotes healthy root growth and contains no added nutrients, allowing feeding and growth to be controlled separately.
Houseplant Focus Seed & Cuttings Mix – 8L
A fine, free-draining mix developed for seeds and plant cuttings. Contains coir fibre and horticultural sand to encourage healthy new root development.
When Should I Repot My Houseplant?
Repot when roots have filled the existing pot, are growing from the drainage holes, or the plant is drying out much more quickly than usual. Choose an appropriate growing pot only slightly larger than the existing root ball and use the specialist compost best suited to your plant.
How to Use
Remove the plant carefully from its existing pot and gently loosen any tightly packed roots. Add some fresh growing medium to the new pot, position the plant at approximately the same depth as before and fill around the root ball without compacting the mix excessively. Water according to the needs of the particular plant and allow excess water to drain freely.
