Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'

Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ is an outstanding hardy garden shrub, prized for its spectacular cone-shaped flower heads and exceptionally long season of interest. The flowers emerge in a fresh lime green before softening to creamy white, then gradually developing blush-pink tones as summer gives way to autumn.

Held upright on strong stems above deep green foliage, the generous blooms create an impressive display in borders and large containers. They are also wonderful for cutting and can be enjoyed either fresh or dried.

Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. Although more tolerant of sunshine than many hydrangeas, it performs best where the soil does not dry out. Water regularly while establishing and during warm, dry weather.

Hydrangea paniculata flowers on new growth, so established plants can be pruned in late winter or early spring. Cut back the previous season’s stems to maintain a strong framework and encourage fresh flowering growth.
