Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'

Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' is a magnificent hardy shrub producing enormous rounded flower heads held proudly on sturdy stems. Depending on availability, plants may be supplied as either 'Strong Annabelle' (Incrediball®) with its classic creamy white blooms, or 'Ruby Annabelle', which produces rich ruby-pink flower heads. Both varieties offer an impressive summer display with large blooms held above attractive green foliage.

These improved Annabelle hydrangeas have been bred for stronger stems than the traditional variety, helping to support their generous flower heads throughout the season. Their long flowering period, reliability and elegant appearance make them excellent choices for borders, cottage gardens and large containers, while the blooms are also ideal for cutting and drying.

Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Water regularly during dry spells, particularly while establishing. Flowering on new season's growth, these hydrangeas benefit from being cut back in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous stems and abundant blooms each year.
