Wax Plant
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Hoya pubicalyx 'Silver Spot' is a stunning trailing houseplant prized for its long, glossy leaves generously splashed with shimmering silver markings. Native to the Philippines, this easy-care wax plant is one of the fastest-growing Hoyas, making it perfect for beginners and experienced collectors alike.
Whether allowed to trail gracefully from a shelf or trained to climb a moss pole or trellis, Hoya pubicalyx 'Silver Spot' brings year-round interest with its beautifully speckled foliage. Given plenty of bright indirect light and the right conditions, mature plants may reward you with exquisite clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers in shades of deep pink to burgundy. Each bloom is coated in tiny hairs, giving the flowers an almost velvety appearance.
Like many Hoyas, this species stores water in its thick, succulent leaves, making it remarkably tolerant of occasional neglect. Allow the compost to dry slightly between waterings and provide plenty of bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and flowering.

Care Instructions
Light
Place in bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or evening sun can encourage flowering, but avoid prolonged harsh midday sun, which may scorch the leaves.
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry before watering again. This plant stores moisture in its fleshy leaves and prefers to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during winter.
Food
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a quality liquid houseplant fertiliser. Regular feeding encourages healthy growth, strong roots and more reliable flowering.
Humidity
This plant is happy in average household humidity but appreciates slightly higher humidity where possible. Good air circulation is equally important for healthy growth. Avoid excessive misting.
