Hoya australis ‘Lisa’

Hoya australis ‘Lisa’ is a beautifully variegated Wax Plant with thick, glossy leaves splashed in shades of green, cream, soft yellow and blush pink. More unusual than standard green Hoya varieties, it makes a striking choice for shelves, plant stands or hanging planters, where its trailing stems and colourful foliage can really be appreciated.

This is a versatile trailing or climbing houseplant that can be left to cascade naturally or trained up a hoop or support. Given the right conditions, mature plants may also produce clusters of fragrant white star-shaped flowers, adding even more appeal to this already special variety.

Like other Hoyas, Hoya australis ‘Lisa’ has slightly succulent leaves, so it prefers to dry out a little between waterings rather than sit in wet compost. Place it somewhere with bright indirect light to help maintain strong variegation and healthy growth.

The Hoya genus was named in honour of Thomas Hoy, an 18th-century gardener to the Duke of Northumberland. Today, Hoyas remain some of the most loved houseplants for their easy-going nature, beautiful foliage and collectable charm.
