Homalomena rubescens ‘Maggy’ is a striking tropical houseplant loved for its large emerald-green heart-shaped leaves and rich red stems. This lush, architectural plant brings instant jungle vibes to any bright indoor space.
Native to the warm, humid forests of southern Asia and part of the Araceae family, Homalomena thrives in similar home conditions to philodendrons and anthuriums, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a bold yet easy-care foliage plant to their collection.
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. Can tolerate medium light but growth may slow.
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the top half of the soil to dry out before watering again. Avoid leaving the plant sitting in water.
Temperature & Humidity
Keep above 15°C. Loves warmth and humidity, making it ideal for living rooms and bedrooms.
Feeding
Feed fortnightly in spring and summer with a houseplant fertiliser to support healthy growth.
