Gardenia jasminoides, commonly known as Cape Jasmine, is a popular evergreen flowering houseplant appreciated for its glossy, dark green leaves and intensely fragrant, creamy-white, rose-like blooms.
While generally grown indoors year-round in the UK, they can be moved outside during warmer months.
They thrive in bright, indirect light, consistently moist (but not waterlogged) compost. Maintaining a consistent temperature and avoiding temperature fluctuations, especially during flowering, is also crucial.
