Epipremnum ‘Cebu Blue’

Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’, commonly known as Cebu Blue Pothos, is an easy-growing trailing houseplant with distinctive elongated leaves in beautiful blue-green and silvery tones. The foliage has a subtle metallic sheen that gives it a very different appearance from the more familiar golden and green Epipremnum varieties.

Supplied in a 12cm nursery pot with approximately 20cm+ of growth, Cebu Blue can be allowed to trail naturally from a shelf or planter, or encouraged to climb a support. When given something to climb and allowed to mature, the leaves can become considerably larger and may eventually develop dramatic splits and fenestrations.

Light & Position

Give Epipremnum ‘Cebu Blue’ plenty of bright, indirect or filtered light. Good light encourages healthy, compact growth and helps maintain the plant's distinctive silvery blue-green colouring.

It will tolerate somewhat lower light levels, although growth may become slower and less compact. Avoid prolonged strong direct sunshine through glass, which can scorch the foliage.

Watering

Allow the upper few centimetres of compost to dry before watering thoroughly, then allow all excess water to drain away. Cebu Blue is relatively forgiving of an occasional missed watering and generally prefers to be slightly too dry rather than permanently wet.

Reduce watering during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows, and never leave the nursery pot sitting in water.

Humidity & Temperature

Epipremnum ‘Cebu Blue’ adapts well to normal indoor conditions but appreciates moderate humidity and warm, stable temperatures. Keep away from cold draughts and direct heat from radiators.

Regular misting is not essential; good surrounding humidity and airflow are more useful.

Feeding

Feed regularly during spring and summer while the plant is actively growing using a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter.

Trailing or Climbing?

Cebu Blue is extremely versatile. Allow the stems to cascade naturally for an easy trailing display, or train them onto a moss pole, coir pole or other climbing support.

Plants encouraged to climb can develop progressively larger leaves as they mature, with established specimens eventually capable of producing the characteristic splits and fenestrations of mature Epipremnum pinnatum.
