Epiphyllum ‘Dietmar Paetz’

Epiphyllum ‘Dietmar Paetz’ is a striking trailing orchid cactus prized for its elegant, flattened stems and refined, sculptural form. As a named cultivar, it offers a more distinctive and considered alternative to standard Epiphyllum varieties, making it a standout choice for collectors and design-led interiors alike.

Its gently arching, pendant stems create a soft cascading silhouette, ideal for styling from shelves or hanging planters. With the right care, mature plants can produce large, showy blooms, adding an extra layer of interest during the growing season.

Like all orchid cacti, it originates from the forests of Central America, where it grows beneath the canopy in warm, humid conditions. This makes it well suited to indoor environments with bright, indirect light.

Please note: you may notice a clean cut at the base of some stems. This is a normal part of the growing process, where growers prune Epiphyllum to encourage branching and create fuller, more balanced plants over time.

Care & styling tips
Place in bright, indirect light or partial shade. Water when the top inch of compost has dried, keeping the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Avoid allowing it to dry out completely. Benefits from occasional misting and a monthly feed during spring and summer.
