Drimiopsis kirkii

Drimiopsis kirkii, also known as Giant Squill, is an unusual and easy-care houseplant with upright, lance-shaped leaves marked with soft silver-green patterning. It has a quietly sculptural look, making it a lovely choice for shelves, side tables or smaller plant displays.

This plant grows from bulb-like structures at the base, giving it a slightly succulent quality. It is fairly drought tolerant once established and much more forgiving than many tropical foliage plants, making it a good option if you prefer something distinctive but low maintenance.

In good conditions, Drimiopsis kirkii may produce delicate flower spikes, usually in late winter or spring. The foliage is still the main attraction, with its spotted, silvery leaves bringing subtle pattern and texture to indoor spaces.
