The Watermelon Dischidia is an easy-growing succulent with very decorative fleshy green leaves that resemble watermelons.

Occasionally the plant is accompanied by tiny white flowers. It is native to south east Asia.

Prefers bright indirect light and should be watered when the top of the soil is dry to the touch. Keep drier in the winter. Prune freely to maintain the size. Feed once every three months with liquid feed.

Care Instructions

Light

This plant prefers bright conditions. Direct sunlight is beneficial to this plant, however be cautious of letting it scorch in midday summer sun.

Water

Thoroughly water the compost and allow it to dry out before re-watering. Water less in winter and allow the compost to remain drier for longer.

Food

Feed once a month through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in the winter months.

Humidity

This plant is native to arid climates and therefore does not require any additional humidity. Do not mist this plant.
