Although known as the Sago Palm, this is not a palm despite its appearance – it is actually a Cycad and dates back to pre-historic times.
It will survive in a shadier area but will be happier in bright, indirect light. Water when top of the soil is dry to the touch. Avoid cold draughts and mist regularly. Turn the plant every so often to retain an even structure. Feed in spring/summer with houseplant feed.
