Consolea rubescens (17cm pot)
Hailing from the Caribbean, this cactus is nearly spineless, and its flattened bumpy paddles gives it the common name Roadkill. They bloom from the terminal ends of segment pads with orange flowers.
They prefer bright light, but don’t let them scorch in the summer! Water from April to September when the soil has dried out slightly and very sparingly in winter. Feed fortnightly in spring and summer only.
