Chocolate Mint (Mentha × piperita 'Chocolate') is a wonderfully fragrant hardy herb with deep green leaves, attractive dark stems and a refreshing mint aroma with subtle chocolate notes. Easy to grow and highly versatile, it is perfect for adding fresh flavour and fragrance to gardens, patios and kitchen windowsills.
Ideal for pots, raised beds and herb gardens, Chocolate Mint can be used to flavour teas, desserts, cocktails and summer drinks, while its scented foliage releases a delicious aroma whenever the leaves are brushed. During summer, delicate mauve flowers appear above the foliage, attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Water regularly, particularly during warm weather and when grown in containers. Harvest the leaves as required throughout the growing season to encourage fresh, bushy growth.
