Ceropegia woodii, commonly known as String of Hearts, is a delicate trailing houseplant with small, heart-shaped leaves patterned in shades of green and silver. Its slender cascading vines make it perfect for shelves, hanging planters or anywhere its beautiful trails can spill over the edge of a pot.
Native to southern Africa, String of Hearts is a semi-succulent plant that stores water in its leaves and tubers, making it more drought tolerant than many other trailing houseplants. With the right conditions, its vines can grow impressively long over time.
Light & Position
Prefers bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or late-afternoon sun can help enhance the colour and pattern of the leaves.
Watering
Allow the compost to dry out between waterings. Water more sparingly during winter and avoid leaving the plant sitting in water.
Care
Keep away from cold draughts and feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted houseplant fertiliser.
