Rattlesnake Plant
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Calathea lancifolia ‘Rattlesnake Plant’ – a striking tropical with long, lance-shaped leaves patterned in rich greens and dramatic burgundy undersides. A true statement plant that brings movement and texture to any room.
Also known by its botanical name Goeppertia lancifolia, this elegant species belongs to the Marantaceae family. Like all Calathea, it’s admired for its gentle leaf movement in response to light (nastic movement). Native to the tropical rainforests of South America, it thrives in warm, humid homes and is a wonderful pet-friendly choice.
Care Guide:
Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun. Keep soil lightly moist in the growing season and let the top 2–3 cm dry before watering again. Higher humidity keeps foliage crisp – mist regularly or place near a humidifier. Use rainwater, filtered or left-to-stand tap water if your water is hard. Feed monthly in spring and summer.
