Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the Money Tree, is a striking indoor tree prized for its glossy green foliage and distinctive braided trunk. According to Feng Shui tradition, the braided stems are said to lock in good fortune and prosperity, making it a popular gift for homes and businesses.
This impressive specimen creates an instant focal point in larger rooms, hallways, offices and bright living spaces. Native to the wetlands of Central and South America, the Money Tree combines an elegant, architectural form with surprisingly easy-care requirements.
Despite its tropical origins, Pachira aquatica adapts well to indoor conditions and is considered one of the easiest large houseplants to care for. Given the right conditions, it can thrive for many years and gradually develop into an even more impressive indoor tree.

• Position: Bright, indirect light or light shade
• Watering: Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry
• Humidity: Enjoys occasional misting, especially in centrally heated homes
• Feeding: Feed monthly during spring and summer
• Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and cold draughts
