Today, the raw terracotta Copenhagen pots are still made by hand in small workshops in Tuscany using traditional ceramic techniques.

Care & Styling

You can plant directly into each pot using an appropriate free-draining compost, or use them with suitably sized nursery pots.

Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain through into the saucer. Empty standing water rather than leaving the base of the pot permanently submerged.

Raw terracotta naturally changes character with age and use. Subtle colour variation, mineral marks and the gradual development of a natural patina are normal and form part of the material's character.

Terracotta can also transfer moisture to the surface underneath, so use additional protection beneath the saucer when placing the pots on particularly delicate furniture or shelving.
