Asplenium ‘Parvati’, commonly known as the Mother Fern, is a distinctive indoor fern with finely divided, glossy green fronds that form a soft, full and gently arching shape. Its intricate foliage adds texture and a fresh, woodland feel to shelves, side tables and shaded corners.
Although delicate in appearance, ‘Parvati’ is a relatively robust fern. Its thicker, slightly waxy foliage makes it more forgiving than many finer-leaved fern varieties, making it a good choice for anyone who loves the look of ferns but wants something a little easier to manage.
Light & Position
Prefers moderate to bright, indirect light and will also tolerate gentle shade. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch the fronds. A bright bathroom or kitchen can be particularly suitable thanks to the naturally higher humidity.
Watering
Keep the compost lightly and evenly moist, allowing the surface to dry only slightly between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away, avoiding both prolonged dryness and waterlogged compost.
Humidity & Temperature
Asplenium ‘Parvati’ appreciates moderate to higher humidity and consistent indoor warmth. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and other direct heat sources.
