Asparagus is not a true fern, but a member of the lily family. The needle-like leaflets give this plant a delicate appearance.
The Asparagus genus is native to South and East Africa and can be found in humid forest environments. Despite being commonly known as Asparagus Ferns these plants are not true ferns but are actually part of the Asparagaceae family.
The Asparagaceae family also consists of lilies - so don't confuse this genus with ferns when looking for a pet friendly option!

Care Instructions
Light
Position out of any direct sunight! If in a shadier spot, the plant will offer less growth and require less water.
Water
Thoroughly water, then allow the top 3 to 4cm of compost to dry before re-watering. Water less in winter when the plant is growing more slowly. Over-watering can cause root rot.
Food
Feed every second time you water through spring and summer with a quality liquid plant food. There is no need to feed this plant in winter.
Humidity
This plant enjoys humidity. Place in a bathroom and/or mist regularly with water.
