Anthurium 'Karma White'
Flamingo Flower
🚚 Free UK shipping on orders over £50 🪴
Anthurium ‘Karma White’ is an elegant flowering houseplant with glossy, heart-shaped green leaves and beautiful white spathes. The contrast between fresh white flowers and rich green foliage creates a calm, classic display that suits both contemporary and traditional interiors.
Supplied in a 12cm diameter nursery pot at approximately 40cm tall, ‘Karma White’ is a lovely size for side tables, desks and bright shelves. Its upright shape brings height without taking up too much space, making it a thoughtful gift or an attractive addition to your own plant collection.
What Makes ‘Karma White’ Special?
The white “flowers” are actually modified leaves called spathes. Each surrounds a central spike, known as the spadix, which carries the plant's tiny true flowers.
These long-lasting spathes bring weeks of interest, while the glossy foliage remains attractive between flowering periods. The simple white and green combination looks particularly beautiful paired with terracotta, textured stoneware or a softly coloured decorative pot.
Light & Position
Choose bright, indirect light. An east- or west-facing window is often suitable; filter stronger sunshine with a sheer curtain.
Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch leaves, and dark corners, where flowering may decline.
Watering
Let the upper few centimetres of compost dry before watering. Check beneath the surface rather than relying on a fixed schedule.
Water thoroughly, then drain fully. Empty any water collected inside the decorative pot. Water less frequently when growth slows in winter.
Humidity & Temperature
‘Karma White’ appreciates humid air and warmth, ideally around 18–25°C. A bright bathroom can suit it well.
Keep away from cold draughts and radiators. Very dry air can cause brown leaf edges.
Feeding
Use an Anthurium or orchid fertiliser during active growth, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce feeding when winter growth slows.
Repotting
Repot when the roots fill the container, usually every two to three years. Move up just one pot size.
Use an airy, slightly acidic compost mix incorporating orchid bark and perlite, and a pot with drainage holes.
