Allium ‘Millenium’ is a compact, clump-forming ornamental onion, loved for its rounded clusters of soft purple-pink flowers that appear in mid to late summer.

Unlike the taller spring-flowering alliums, this variety forms a neat mound of glossy green foliage, with sturdy stems that hold the blooms just above the leaves. It’s perfect for adding colour and structure to borders, and works particularly well in smaller gardens and containers.

The long-lasting flowers are a magnet for bees and pollinators, making it a brilliant choice for wildlife-friendly planting. Its tidy habit and reliable performance have made it a favourite in modern perennial planting schemes.

Position: Full sun for best flowering.
Watering: Water during dry spells, especially in its first season and when grown in pots.
Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Tolerates a range of soil types if drainage is good.
Care: Very low maintenance. Leave seed heads for interest or cut back after flowering. Divide clumps every few years if needed.

Good to know: A hardy perennial that returns reliably each year, gradually forming larger clumps. Unlike many alliums, the foliage stays fresh and attractive throughout the growing season.
