Niwaki Kenzan – Traditional Ikebana Flower Holder
The Niwaki Kenzan is a reusable flower holder used in ikebana and modern floral design. Also known as a flower frog, this eco-friendly alternative to floral foam allows you to create natural, long-lasting arrangements at home or in a studio.
Made with sturdy brass pins set in a heavy metal base, the Kenzan securely holds both woody stems and delicate greenery in any position you choose. It’s ideal for sustainable flower arranging, offering excellent stability for creative designs without plastic or foam.
How to Use a Kenzan:
Place the Kenzan in a shallow bowl or dish and fill with water. Trim stems at an angle, or make a small cross cut for thicker branches, before pressing them firmly onto the spikes. Top up the water daily to keep arrangements fresh.
