Houseplants in Edinburgh

Houseplants are at the heart of grow urban. and our selection changes constantly as new deliveries arrive.

You'll find everything from easy-care favourites and small plants for shelves and desks to trailing plants, unusual varieties and larger statement plants. We also stock plants suited to different light levels and homes with pets, and our team can help you choose something appropriate for the space you have in mind.

Browse our current houseplants online before visiting, or simply pop in and see what has arrived that week.

Plant Pots, Compost and Plant Care

Finding the plant is only half the fun. Around the shop you'll also find a wide range of indoor plant pots, from simple everyday designs to handmade and design-led planters.

We stock composts, feeds, watering products and other indoor plant-care essentials too, so if you're repotting a plant or trying to solve a particular plant-care problem, you can pick up what you need in the same visit.

Gardening Tools and Outdoor Plants

grow urban. isn't only an indoor plant shop. We also stock a changing seasonal selection of outdoor plants alongside seeds, watering equipment and carefully chosen gardening tools.

Our gardening range includes specialist brands such as Niwaki, Haws and Sneeboer alongside practical tools for balconies, courtyards and larger gardens.

Outdoor plant availability changes significantly through the seasons, so what you find outside the shop in spring can look very different by autumn.

Gifts for Plant Lovers and Gardeners

The shop has also become a favourite place to find presents for people who love plants and gardens.

Alongside plants you'll find gifts for plant lovers and gardeners, including beautiful gardening tools, watering cans, plant accessories, candles, homeware, books, cards and grow urban. goods.

Whether you're looking for a small birthday gift or something rather more special, we're always happy to help you put together something that feels a little less predictable.

Have a Coffee While You Browse

You don't need to rush around the shop with a plant tucked under one arm.

You can stop for a coffee while you browse, surrounded by rather more greenery than you'll find in the average Edinburgh coffee shop.

We're also dog friendly, so well-behaved dogs are very welcome to come in with you.

Plant Advice from Our Team

Choosing a plant can be confusing when you're trying to work out whether it will actually enjoy living in your home.

Our team is always happy to help with practical questions about light, watering, plant care, pot sizing and choosing the right plant for a particular position.

If you're not sure what you need, tell us where the plant is going – whether it's a bright windowsill, a darker corner, a bathroom or an office – and we'll help narrow down the options.

From Grove Street to St Vincent Street

grow urban. began in Edinburgh in 2019, with our original shop on Grove Street.

As the business and our plant collection grew, we opened the St Vincent Street shop in July 2021. This article was originally written to celebrate that opening, when the shop was very new and we were introducing ourselves to the neighbourhood.

A lot has changed since then. Today, St Vincent Street is our Edinburgh home and the shop continues to evolve with new plants, pots, gardening products and gifts arriving throughout the year.

Are We in Stockbridge?

Strictly speaking, our address is in Edinburgh's New Town, rather than Stockbridge itself.

We're on St Vincent Street, however, very close to Stockbridge, so the shop is an easy addition to a wander through either neighbourhood.

If you're searching for a plant shop in Stockbridge or Edinburgh's New Town, we're just nearby at 8b St Vincent Street.
