Strelitzia nicolai, commonly known as the Giant White Bird of Paradise, is a dramatic, architectural houseplant with huge paddle-shaped leaves that fan out to create a bold, tropical statement indoors. In maturity, it can produce spectacular blue and white flowers resembling a bird in flight.
This impressive plant thrives in bright, indirect light and warm conditions. Keep above 15°C and water when the top of the compost feels dry. In winter, allow the top inch to dry out before rewatering. Feed during spring and summer and mist daily to maintain humidity.
