Scindapsus ‘Silvery Ann’

Scindapsus pictus ‘Silvery Ann’, commonly known as Silver Satin Pothos, is a particularly striking Scindapsus with soft, heart-shaped leaves generously washed and splashed with shimmering silver.

Unlike more evenly patterned varieties, ‘Silvery Ann’ develops irregular silver variegation that can cover large areas of each leaf. Some leaves may be predominantly green with silver markings, while others emerge almost completely silver, giving every plant an individual appearance.

Light & Position

Give ‘Silvery Ann’ moderate to bright, indirect light for the strongest growth and silver colouring. It will tolerate somewhat lower light levels, although growth may slow and new foliage can become greener.

Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the velvety leaves.

Watering

Allow the upper 2–3cm of compost to dry before watering thoroughly, then let excess water drain away. Scindapsus prefers an airy, free-draining growing medium and should not be left sitting in constantly wet compost.

Water less frequently during autumn and winter as growth slows.

Humidity & Temperature

Happy in normal household humidity, although moderate to higher humidity can encourage particularly lush growth. Regular misting is not essential.

Keep in warm indoor conditions and away from cold draughts and direct heat sources.

Feeding

Feed approximately once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser while the plant is actively growing. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter.

Trailing or Climbing?

‘Silvery Ann’ can be allowed to trail naturally from a shelf or elevated planter, or trained to climb a moss pole or other suitable support. Like other Scindapsus, climbing growth can eventually produce larger, more mature leaves.
