Lavandula angustifolia ‘Hidcote’ is a compact English lavender prized for its richly scented deep violet-purple flowers and silvery-grey evergreen foliage. Flowering through summer, it brings fragrance, colour and a relaxed Mediterranean feel to outdoor spaces.
One of the most popular lavender varieties, ‘Hidcote’ is particularly well suited to pots, terraces, window boxes and sunny garden borders. Its neat, compact habit makes it ideal for smaller urban gardens, while the flowers are loved by bees and other pollinators.
Care & positioning
Place outdoors in full sun in a free-draining compost or soil. Lavender dislikes sitting wet, especially in winter, so good drainage is essential. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant and require only occasional watering during dry spells.

Evergreen and hardy in the UK. Lightly trim after flowering to maintain a dense, compact shape and encourage fresh growth the following season.
