Ceanothus 'Victoria'

Ceanothus ‘Victoria’, often known as Californian Lilac, is a striking evergreen shrub with deep green, glossy foliage and masses of rich blue flowers in late spring and early summer.

The vivid, almost electric blue blooms create a real statement, bringing colour and structure to gardens, patios and outdoor spaces. Its upright, bushy habit makes it ideal for borders, screening or as a feature plant in a large container.

This is a brilliant choice for adding a Mediterranean feel, and it’s particularly loved by bees and pollinators when in flower.

Position: Full sun in a sheltered spot, protected from cold winds.
Watering: Water regularly when establishing. Once settled, it is relatively drought tolerant.
Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Avoid heavy, waterlogged conditions.
Care: Low maintenance. Lightly trim after flowering to maintain shape. Avoid hard pruning into old wood.
